Our story
Built by a lifter who ran out of room.
MightyLu is a Zagreb company founded in 2022 by mechanical engineer Niko Bolanča. We design compact, heavy-duty home gym equipment for people who train seriously and live in real-sized homes.
The founder
An engineer, a father, and a bench that had to disappear.
Niko grew up in Primošten on the Croatian coast and started lifting at 15. He studied mechanical engineering in Zagreb, rowed in the university eight, and spent a decade in industry, from robotic components for ultrasound testing in nuclear plants to induction motors, before becoming a technical director and board member.
Becoming a father moved his training home. Most equipment he found was either too bulky to live with or simply commercial gym gear squeezed into an apartment. So he used his engineering background to reinvent it, starting with the MightyRock bench.
And the name? The “Lu” comes from his daughter Lucija. Mighty Lucija.
“I realized there was a significant gap in the market for home gym solutions suitable for small homes. Most available equipment was repurposed commercial gym gear. This motivated me to reinvent home gym equipment.”
