"Hi, my name is Niko, and I am delighted that you visited our site. Let me share a bit about myself and the journey that led to the creation of MightyLu.
I was born in Primošten, a charming tourist village on the Croatian coast. After completing high school, I pursued my passion for technology and sports by studying mechanical engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical and Naval Engineering in Zagreb. From a young age, I was fascinated by the transformative power of technology and equally passionate about fitness, especially weightlifting. At 15, I was captivated by the idea that a dedicated training routine could sculpt both body and mind. This journey began with the realization that exercise could change my physique and was further deepened when I learned about the critical role of diet. This holistic approach to fitness significantly strengthened my mental resilience, especially during my academic years.
While studying, I joined the college rowing team, securing a spot in the eight-man crew. Despite the rigorous training schedule, weightlifting remained a core part of my identity, a passion that continues to drive me today.
After earning my master's degree in mechanical engineering in 2012, I embarked on a diverse career in the industry. I started as a design engineer for robotic components used in ultrasound testing at nuclear plants, then transitioned to designing induction motors and electrical fans. My dedication and expertise eventually led me to the role of technical director and member of the management board. Despite the success and benefits of my corporate career, I always felt a calling to start my own venture, a drive rooted in my entrepreneurial upbringing. This aspiration, coupled with my enduring love for fitness, led to the birth of MightyLu in 2022.
Why focus on home gyms? Over the past seven years, becoming a father (Lucija and Gabrijel, the Lu in MightyLu comes from Mighty Lucija 🙂 ) transformed my training routine to fit home settings. I realized there was a significant gap in the market for home gym solutions suitable for small homes and apartments. Most available equipment was either too bulky, hard to store, or simply repurposed commercial gym gear. This insight, combined with my engineering background, motivated me to reinvent home gym equipment.
At MightyLu, we started with small yet impactful innovations like the MightyRock bench, aiming to deliver high-quality, space-efficient fitness solutions. Our mission is to lead the home fitness revolution with innovative, durable, and stylish products.
